Thats right I remember that now. I think 1 5/8 is the correct size but thats just from memory so you will have to wait for someone more knowledgeable than I.

Stock 2-1 collector is 1.625" OD and 1.5" ID. Just measure the one in the garage.

Have you ever thought about using JC whitney slip ons? My original mufflers rotted out so they and the crossover tube were cut off leaving just the header pipe. I used the 16" Chrome Universal Tapered Muffler which I packed with fiberglass and while I had to drill holes in the mounting brackets and put an indentation in the right muffler to clear the brake pedal it has been on since 1999 with no evidence of rust. Here is the link: http://www.jcwhitney.com/motorcycle/...4658j3s18.jcwx

I may think of replacing them with some of the megaphone mufflers just to give a more classic look to the bike.

                Hi Lee,
by son bought a pair of cocktail shakers but not from Dennis Kirk. Anyway, his set came with nesting 1-1/2 to 1-5/8 and 1-5/8 to 1-3/4 adapter sleeves.
How about you carefully re-check the packaging that yours came in?

                    Hi Lee,
ah well, it cost nothing to look, eh? They ain't chromed but you should be able to find exhaust pipe adapters at your local equivalent to Canadian Tire.
Eric only bought them because he liked how they look.
The left-side one he's installed so far seems to go well with the look he's chosen for the bike.
Once the new muffler sleeve gets here he can reassemble the right-side exhaust manifold onto the bike and attach the other shaker.
Then we can hear how it sounds.

well im going to take my bike to the exhaust shop and have them make me a y pipe as well so i can eather 1 or 2 muffler...plus i can add other slip ons as well...i bought a decent tape mesure and mesured 17inchs from one pipe to the other strait across (feel free to correct me) and the left pipe will sweep over to the y making it 22" connecting to the y and the right pipe 11" to the y with a 45* angle after the y..
