Here is the 1978 XS750E I traded. 15,000 miles. Bike served me well and had good power. Dang it I really wanted to keep the oil cooler! http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...y/000_0283.jpg

You might want to use the IMG links so the picture shows up here in the forum. Nice bike BTW!

Yes 1979. Odometer reads 30,000 miles. I assume at this milage someone has repaired the transmission as there are no problems. (finger crossed) The over tightening of the center head to jug, the pinched in and broken pickup wire (someone not paying attention during reassembly) and the cleanliness of the engine points to a rebuild. Because of the project I gave up on I have many new parts that I put in this running bike. 4 new carb to engine boots and an air filter. The new bikes carbs for cyls 1 and 2 had bad needles-grooved- as well as their bowl screens plugged with crud. I had some rebuild kits that came with the first bike and I installed those needles and seats. The new needle and seats came with a metal washer where the OEM uses a fiber washer. I re used the fiber washer instead of the metal washer as even with floats adj correctly I was experiencing leaks. I installed the fiber washers and no more leaks anywhere. Does anyone substitute a rubber O ring in place of the washer? The bike ran flawless when I looked at it and test rode it but surprise- the day after I get her home she was missing. The carbs and the pick up wire were to blame. Its sure does run great! Im gonna prep and repaint the tank, side covers and rear cowl off the other bike and install onto the rider. The exhaust is gonna come off for a sanding and dull black paint job. I need a back rest and a small shield. Looking forward to putting some miles on the 1100!
