I have a few questions, I feels I should throw in this disclamer: Before this bike the closest I've gotten to working on a carb is looking at old muscle cars... With that said, I've been reading carb threads on here "Carb cleaning 101" ect... So now I'm getting into the carbs, I've got one torn down less the float.
Questions:
1) Everthing I have read says the slide needle should only have 3 clip adjustments. Mine has 6? The clip was set 1 spot on the rich side.
2) As I have said in previous posts, I've been having a problem with the bike bogging from 4k-6k rpm but running great everywhere else. Would the clip position be causing this? (All jet sizes are OEM)
3) I've read the Pinesol cleaning thread for the aluminum parts. Will the Pinesol hurt the brass parts inside the carbs?
4) whats the proper order of operations for measuring and adjusting the float height?? <-- I'm clueless here!
Side note: From what I've seen of the one carb it looks like nothing needs to be replaced just adjusted. I guess at this point Its more of a learning experience for me and a cleaning project. (the bodies are nasty!)
I'll get some pictures up later...
Thanks in advance guys!
