  • Carb re-building/polishing service

Ok, I read somewhere and I was thinking it was by a vendor on the links page where somebody will re-build your carbs you send to them and if you want will re-finish/polish. The service also offered to jet according to bike setup (ie, pod filters, exhasut, BBK). Can anyone help me out where I have seen this service or vendor? Thanks

81xsproject does it. Its listed in the parts for sale forum, first thread about the services offered my members, last post on the first page of the thread.

Jamie, wicked's price is pretty decent and they look unbelievably pretty compared to what you get back from me. However, I can't remember what year you have, but I don't recommend 70's carbs on 80's motors. JMHO

If I read that ebay ad correctly, you need to send your carbs to Wicked, and he will clean and polish them as described, replacing the parts described.

The auction is not to buy the carbs pictured, you send him yours and he sends them back in the condition of the ones pictured. And the ones pictured look clean enough to eat off of for sure.

If it were me, I'd want to know if there is an added fee for parts that are found to be incorrect or defective and need to be replaced, like jets, or diaphrams, slide needles. If I read the ad correctly, only the older metal float needle valves and seats are replaced, the newer vitons are cleaned and reused.

I won't go into all the ugly details, but it would appear that if I had sent my carbs to WICKEDXS and paid him $400 or $500, I would have been well ahead of the game.

Thanks for the clarification Wicked, it may have only been me that was confused by it.

Far as I see it your just providing the info a member asked for, just happens to be your service. Nothing to worry about.
