  • xs11 chopper/driveshaft update

I finally finished my xs11 chopper. The v-max driveshaft does work fine. The u-joint end is machined a little differently so I had to put a small hose clamp on it to keep it from slipping too far back into the u-joint. The stock length on a v-max shaft is 13.5" in case anyone wants to know. It seems I can't post pictures, or I just can't figure out how, so if you want to see it I guess I could e-mail a few pics. Thanks for all the great information!! My project would never have been completed without the help of your fantastic site!!

You have to link to pictures here on the site. You can post them to a photo hosting site like Photobucket. There is a thread here somewhere with a tutorial.

I'm not a hardtail guy, but that's still a very nice fab job.

                          Hi Fender,
well, if you insist on taking a suspended bike back in time 70 years to when most bikes came with rigid frames,
your extended frame and exposed drive shaft modification is definitely the way to do it.
Congratulations on a great engineering job.
                          Some touches remain?
The exposed drive shaft would show to a better advantage after seeing a polishing wheel?
And the front fender also stiffens the fork. How about getting the stiffness back by installing a T-kat fork brace instead?
