  • parts manual

I have service manuals, but they don't seem to have part numbers. Does anyone know where I can download the parts manual? Free would be good! lol.

That's one shortcoming with these bikes; there isn't any 'parts manual'. Yamaha only had this on microfiche at the dealer and there wasn't anything available for purchase by an owner.

You can go here to look up parts:
      http://www.benefiscal.co.uk/
... but not everything is posted or 100% accurate.

Bike Bandit (http://www.bikebandit.com/yamaha-mot...arts/oem-parts) also has the microfiche posted for most years, but the transfer is even worse than the UK site (although a bit more complete) so it's not any better IMO...

I prefer the benefiscal site, since it has pics of a lot of the parts too. I have run into very few inaccuracies. IIRC, Lamric (member here) is the one who edits that information, so we can just let him know when we find something wrong.

Ok, I realize most folks here are of the DIY crowd (myself included), but to overlook the obvious?
