I need a 78-79 exhaust valve for a sample to get the order rolling. I'll settle for one slightly bent better exhaust valve but I could use an intake too. I can return good samples after the order comes in.

Can someone help? I really don't want to tear apart a good engine to get a couple of valves.

        Genetic Drift???

        Tony,

I haven't installed the last 78-79 SS set I received from you. If you need a pair then let me know.

The valves made from this pair would be a copy of a copy if you know what I mean....

I'm trying not to send them new valves if at all possible. I'm about ready to pull the head off the engine in my 79 parts bike but it only has 34k miles on it...

It's too bad I didn't save the bent valves out of Poprocks XJ cylinder head but he's offered ones out of a spare head and I just might ride over his way to get them if all out falls through. At this very moment I only have one new late XS/XJ intake (not stainless.)

If I locate a couple valves from the lower 48 by the end of the holiday weekend, I'll get back to you... I find it hard to imagine that there aren't any bad early XS11 valves around...

                        81 LH Valves

Are all the 81 valves spoken for? I haven't gotten into the head yet but, I may need a set for this restore. Checked the shim's before I pulled the head and the PO had replaced the shims but went the wrong way. After I got the head off, I see that the carb boots are partially melted and a lot of paint has been burnt off. It must have got real hot so I figure the valves may be cooked. Hurt my back a while ago so I haven't been able to stand for any period of time yet but hope to get the valve trains out next week and have a look.
