Where is the inline fuse located for the 79 standard XS 1100?

Now our bike will not start at all.

    Thanks for any help.

      Time for a repair manual?

If you're getting into chasing down electrical problems it would be handy to have a repair manual with wiring diagrams. As far as I know the Clymer's one is still available. Occasionally the Haynes and Yamaha factory manuals turn up on eBay.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

        The Mystery Fuse...

        Sherry & Motorhead

Yet another victim of the "Mystery Fuse" EH ?

In addition to the "Main fuse Block" some models beginning in the '80 production run had another fuse placed under the opposite side cover...
I asked Yamaha why they put that there...and the only answer I ever got was...say it with me Guys "just to P*** you off"

When you get around to replacing the "main fuse panel" just go to NAPA/Wal-Mart and buy a single blade type fuse holder and replace that one also (15amp

When you get around to replacing the "main fuse panel" just go to NAPA/Wal-Mart and buy a single blade type fuse holder and replace that one also (15amp minimum)
then keep plenty of spare fuses
Because I GUARANTEE you that it WILL blow when you are the farthest you've ever been from a replacement fuse
          Keep postin'
