Nice looking bike

It has good eye appeal, much better looking than the one I offered you but I'd be scared of it with noise you described .... if it turns out to be transmission or primary chain related ... you're in for a LOT of work & it suddenly turns into not such a good deal anymore.

Well, I talked to the owner this morning and he stated on his ride home there was "squealing, stripping" sound and it rattles extremely bad now. He said the bike is no longer for sale until he gets it fixed.

Going to look at a Kawasaki 1000 LTD I heard about.

Try this, you can look at all the xs's on craig's list with one search....find a nice $800 one in your area, check it out and then buy it. I've found more than a few good ones for peanuts.
