Hi all...anybody know if there's a supplier for hotter-than-stock ignition coils for my '82 XJ1100?? Or should I leave well enough alone?

Hey Pegasus - looks like you're just up the road a little. Mikes green coils (like Nate said) or Dynas from Z1 would be my choice. The green mikes coils are a little hotter (45kv with 12v input, and 75kv with 14v) than the Dynas (30kv), but either one would be a big improvement over the stockers (about 15kv). You'll notice the difference the first time you hit the start button. Don't forget to open your plug gap a little - .035" is where I've got mine. If you need help, I'm about a mile from King's Island.I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

Thanks for the help -- may not change coils 'till winter or next spring, but I'll have the research done. Just cleaned the K&N filters and put in new plugs. That made a great change in acceleration. Going in the right direction. Thanks again!
