Thanks Fred, love your side car rig by the way. So I gather if I pre-load my springs a little I will get less sag yet retain a "stock" ride. Am I close?

justme1100, you can also increase your fork oil level and/or go to a heavier viscosity to stiffen up the forks a bit. Preload spacers will increase the ride height of the front of the bike.2H7 (79) owned since '89

What Fred forgot to mention is that if their just a little soft, you might be able to get what your looking for by adding air to the forks, unless your already at the max (it's 33psi for my 80G but I'm not sure what it is for the XJ). I did that with mine and am quite pleased wth the results. Of course I also put 15w fork oil in since I have a fairing. I'm quite pleased with how that worked. So I would suggest those simpler and easier to do changes before digging into trying to change spring rates and the like.Cy
