  • forward control opinions...

I have been thinking about forward controls for the XS for awhile now. Is anyone currently using a set on their XS? It kind of seems to me that the engine is a bit wide to have your legs around all the time. I do like the riding positions forward controls give (on long rides I'll rest my legs on the ignition and generator covers)

Also, does anyone know where I can get a set up for less than my bike is worth?? people making these kits are pretty proud of them!!

78 xs11 aftermarket 4-2 HD mufflers, whats left of it is stock. A work in progress for sure.

Ebay, $175. Your bike's gotta be worth more than that.

Was it TC that did a write up for his custom forward controls, I think it was? Pretty sweet setup and you get to keep the stock setup as well.

Handling is better with your feet underneath your butt. Just something to think about.

Comfort on long rides is nice though too. That why if I ever do forward controls I am keeping the stock positions as well!

That's what highway pegs are for. Get a set of 3-point crash guards and mount some highway pegs on them. That will give you 2 new positions for your legs.
