The RayJay kits mounted them behind the barrels, in place of the airbox. My thought is build a SHORT 4 to 1 manifold, and mount the turbo in front. I'll use a heat shield to cut down the heat to the barrels, and have the oil return go into a tapped fitting in the lower case. For this you will need a physically small turbo, because of clearance issues.
I don't have anything on paper yet, but I have most of the bits I need to turbo the '78.

          Turbo

You may want to check out the MrTurbo.com site. They are still in business and going strong. I think they still sell a Turbo kit that fits the XS1100.

              Turbo

I do know that they sell a univesal kit now, but I bet if you talked to them they could fix you up. They did sell a kit custom built kit for the XS11 back in the early 80's. I know that, because I own one. If you like, send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send you a pic of what mine looks like. It really would be less expensive to buy an XS with a turbo already on it. I think someone had one for sale on this site about 2 months ago.
