  • Fuel Gauge Assistance ?

Has anyone had to fix the fuel gauge so it work correctly?

    My issue:

When starting the bike, computer performs diagonostics (82 xj1100 YICS Model) fuel gauge works on startup I can see all of the black boxes for different fuel levels, but once it is done with the inital it constantly shows that the fuel tank is empty. I am about 80% sure that it has to do with the sensor, but wanted to get some advice before I go messing with the fuel system. I though maybe if one of you guys had performed this task before you might be able to lead me in the right direction, or at least give me some pointers. Thanks

Have you downloaded C-bugs XJ manual? That will give you the resistance values for the sending unit, a good place to start.

Thank him, not me. I do

I know this is a silly question, but is the fuel sender plug plugged in? I've forgotten to plug it in a couple times after working on the bike. I'm not sure how the self test works on the XJ, so I don't know if it would give you any kind of error if the fuel sender was not plugged in.
