Now I am starting to remember why I parked this menace three years ago. If it is not one thing, it is another.
So I'm closing in on making Succubus into a runner. Got it firing on all four, idling well, accelerating very well except for a little hesitation in the very low range. I can wqork with that. All was looking good. \
I noticed that when I turned right the engine revved, so I figured I needed to reroute the throttle cable. Pulled the seat and tank, tried one new route, started the bike, it shot up to 3000. Wouldn't come down. Nope, that'snot it. Tried another route... hmm, revs sound good. What is it idling at?
Crap, my tach isn't working. Get out the MM. Nope, bike is not charging at all. Reads 12 volts no matter the engine speed. Musta knocked something loose. Disconnect and reconnect all the electrical connections. No change. Check the wire harness for obvious shorts or damage or loose connections. Nothing. Wiggle the harness while the bike is running. No change.
Great.
I was going to register the bike this afternoon. So can anyone suggest the most likely place that I may have disconnected something capable of knocking out my entire charging system that is somewhere along the back spine of the bike? I have a feeling the damage is not going to be obvious to the naked eye.
