  • vacuum line diameter

    I need to replace the vacuum line on my carbs and it is smaller than 1/4" anyone know the correct size?3/16 is too big.
    1980 XS1100 SG
    Inline fuel filters
    New wires in old coils-outer spark plugs
    160 mph speedometer mod
    Kerker Exhaust
    xschop K & N air filter setup
    Dynojet Recalibration kit
    1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100

    I'm pretty sure I used 7/64 that I got from one of the big auto chain stores, probably autozone.

      I pulled up in front of Advance Auto Parts, pulled the vacuum line off my Octy and took it inside. They gave me a new matching piece for free, since it was so short! I have no idea what size it was, since they gave me 3 to choose from, and I just picked the one that was the closest to the original.

        7/64" was way too small but did find the line at an unknown auto parts store.Not sure of the diameter though.Going to a biker blessing tomorrow.

          It's going to be a metric size and is also going to be the thin wall type. Most hardware stores and auto supply will not have it if you want the "real" stuff. Inside DIA is the measurement you need to know and it is 4.71 MM (.185 inches). It is not expensive and is available at jap bike shops if there's a shop close to your location. Sometimes you will see it on eBay in 3 foot lengths as well.
