Have been reading some of the member's reports and progress on restorations and fixing problems. Noticed where some indicated a new wire harness has been added, where does one get a new wire harness for the XS1100? It looks like on all the OEM houses and their parts schematics, that Yamaha doesn't stock these anymore and was wondering if there was a special place member's go to for OEM or NOS parts over others? Thanks

Good luck...
You wont find a NOS or an OEM harness. Your best bet would be contacting Andreashweiss for a used one. Make sure you know what year/model your bikes frame/ignition unit is, it makes a difference.'79 XS11 F

Most members are using a "new to them" wire harness that is probably in much nicer condition than the old one. Some people rewire the bike one wire at a time, and some just change the connectors that have gone bad over the years. One member here, geezer, has a company that sells Voltage regulator/rectifiers for older bikes, and also stocks some of the connectors and crimp pliers for the wire harness.
As far as new, every now and then someone on ebay will come up with a N.O.S. part, but they usually want a lot of money for it.Ray Matteis
