  • Holy cow, can some one go outside

and check the distance between the frame and the swing arm?

I got the part about the 1.6 mm difference between the two side +/-, but when I took the swingarm off it seemed liked a tight fit... really didn't notice the TOTAL gap between the swingarm and the frame. I have like 3/16 th of an inch gap on both sides.. That seems pretty wide.. and of course if you screw in the adjuster it just make the gap wider.. Is this normal or am I just getting chicken and or just want to get out of the heat....lol

Any previous experience in this or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill??

PS: the swing arm it tight, but not to tight and no slop laterally, It just seems like a huge gap. And no I did not take the bearings out or the seal off....

How can the seals stop water from getting in there with that big of a gap...Holy cow...
If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself..

It's a bit awkward to see, but on Tsunami ('H), both sides look like approx 3/16" too.

When i tried the fd swap i puled my swing arm. I was surprised at the distance between frame and arm as well. Just be sure you have the pivots and nuts at the correct torque and you should be good.

        Well thanks folks.

It seems no matter how hard you try to pay attention when you tear something down, it some how looks different when you put it back together..

I'm surprised that there is not rubber booty's on there as well... I'm, glad there isn't...

The gap is in that range but check your manual because the difference between them should be within a predetermined spec.

Yep everything is good to go

between the difference and the perceived spec's and the spec's. I just was wondering about what I thought was a huge gap. Apparently it is normal sounding....
            Thanks folks!!

Of course the first thing I am going to do is lay a patch of rubber and hit 100 with soft grass on each side of the road...lol
