Bigger front tire, Radial tires for the XS??

So in looking at the front of our Xs's and it looks to me that we could put a fatter front tire on these bikes if we modified the fender. Has anyone else thought of this, or tried it? The other thing, is has anyone put radials on their bike at all and checked the handling? Just wondering if either of these seems possible??

Wow, does anybody have the specifics on this bike? I just want to put radials on the stock rims, and a bigger front tire on the stock rim.

AFAIK, you can't safely mount radial tires on the stock rims.

Most of the bikes you see with the modern running gear from europe since they use the 900 Diversion as a donor bike. It was never sold or imported to N. America as far as I know.

On the xjowners.com site the go on about the 900 seca is the diversion. Just type 900 seca on google search and you get that info immediatly.

I knew that. Besides how many 19" radials have you seen anyway?

What I'm wondering is there a radial that will have the same diameter as the stock rear tire on a standard? A smaller diameter rear tire will effectively lower the over all gear ratios.

But the rear tire is already a 16 or 17 inch, so you can mount a radial sizewise. What the problem is is the front 19". Is that a complete Seca 900 front end in that picture?

Court, believe me, you don't want to put a radial on your xs rim.

Did the Seca have upside-down forks?! Beats me.

That front end is much newer than the Seca 900. I'd suspect that it's off someing made in the last 5 or so.
