They also designed the heads for the first Corvette alloy small block in the ZR1, as well as helping design the heads for some British cars in the late '70's and early '80's.
Yamaha has a reputation for some of the best flow work in head design.

This is correct. Toyota and Yamaha are in the end the same company. I learned this from the sales manager at my local Yamaha dealer in the late 70s.

According to what I can see, Toyota has a 5% stake in Yamaha Motors and Yamaha Motors and Yamaha Co (child and parent corps) each have 500,000 shares of stock in Toyota. So, they are by no means the same company, although they collaborate together a lot, and each have stock in the other, they are in the end no more than partners, and in neither case is one a majority partner of the other. I just spent 5 minutes looking this up. It's not hard to find out what's going on anymore.

If that is true then do i now have to start worring about my breaks and steering on my Yamaha. Wait, there is a bright side, next time I get pulled over for doing 100 mph I will just tell the cop "it's not my fault, it is a Toyota"
