  • Made a movie

I made a movie about taking the carbs off and on with the airbox, but accidently made it in high resolution so it's 51mb and too big to post. The movie started with the seat, tank and side covers off. At that point it takes me 3 mins to have the carbs on the bench. Would have been 5 mins to put them on but the camerman decided to help and got things all screwed up and we had to stop the filming.

You should be able to use some of the software available and shrink the "size" of the file. I know office has some editing, and I think the newer windoze includes software that will edit movies, at least a little bit.

        Just TUBE it!!!

        I second kevxs's advice.

I have a photobucket account but I use it for still photos mostly. Video's would eat up my storage "limit" way too fast. So I do exactly what kevxs is sayin'.

Just be sure that after you upload it to youtube that you consider carefully whether you want to permit people to "comment" on what you've put up. Me? I've always either chosen to permit the comments after my own "approval" or just disallowed them altogether. Keeps the viewer more focused on watching the video's instead of of just using the comments to rant on a soapbox or plain insult your camera work or subject matter.

I'd also consider changing it from "Public" to "unlisted". That-a-way only those folks that you tell about it will actually know where it is and be able to view it. (Like us in the XS11.com peanut gallery...) A youtube "search" wouldn't find it.

C'mon Planedick, please? Pretty Please, can you show us something more interesting than a 2 minute video of a cat cleaning itself to a Michael Jackson soundtrack?

          A cat? Michael Jackson? Cool.

          Got a link, Larry?

            No Creative Vision or Appreciation...

            Sorry Patrick...

Girlfriend wouldn't allow her little kitty's fascination with licking its own naughty bits to be put on public display. Then there was the Copyright issues to MJ's song "Beat It".

I just recognized a no-win scenario and walked away from the project.

              Download

At 51 mb it would take me an hour just to download it and I would like to put the two vids on putting the carbs back on into one. I will look into editing software...

                Windows Movie Maker?

                Planedick,

If you've got windows XP or windows vista then it's likely that you've already got Video editing software on your computer: Windows Movie Maker. It's not complicated with a lot of bells and whistles that make it difficult to use either. Just drag the clips into place and then the WMM lets you trim, adjust, add text, and then save the whole thing as a video just the right size to send in an email or even post to youtube. In fact, youtube has their "settings" adjusted so WMM videos end up looking pretty good.

Totally non-XS related video I made recently

Just saying that you don't need to buy "Adobe Professional" or "Sony Vegas" at about $100 each to get-r-done...

<fx: the cameraman hangs his woolly head in shame>

But I always put the clamps on (he bleated) ... nevermind!

                  </fx>

I can edit and stitch the movies for you if you have any trouble, it's the least I can do!
