Thanks, the more I think about it, that makes sence.
have you known people to have trouble getting the fill plug out of these, this one looks like someone had trouble at one time and used a chizel on it, hope it comes out ok.

        Hi Bob,
the final drive and middle drive filler plugs are hard to get out because they have small Allen key sockets in them and on the bike you can't shove straight down on the Allen key and reef on it. Yours is on the bench so you can get at it with an Allen key socket and it should come out OK.
To put off future trouble, what I did was to file the filler plug's top smooth and braze a hex nut on top of it so it can be turned with a wrench. Others have swapped in a second drain plug as a filler plug. Seems they are the same thread and have a hexagon to turn them.

Sounds like a good idea to me, take the one out of the 1100 final drive (drain plug) and use it.
Now if I can get all this done so i can ride it, have coils to swap out and sync the carbs yet, i am slow about getting things done, sence i have another bike to ride, hard to stay off of it to get outher thing done

When I got it, mine had the filler plug replaced with a regular metric oil drain plug, with a nice big head on it. Much easier to remove than the allen plug.

I'll be doing the FD swap here soon too, and I will definitely be moving this filler plug into the 850 FD I got.
