    93 HD sportster?

Looked up your HD, 0 to 60 in 6 sec? my old man BMW 7 does that? It weighs 5000 lbs by the way (not counting my fat ass). So your HD could hang with my two ton + car, wow, you should be tickeled pink. By the way, my 7 BMW is the slowest car I have owned

      Ah, another uninformed Harley-basher....

First, my '93 isn't stock. High-flow heads, high-lift cams, upgraded ignition, carb, and exhaust. All parts that are easily gotten and bolted on, and this one isn't even close to being radical; this common combo is known to produce 80-85 RWHP. Figuring power-to-weight, the stock XS comes in at 7lbs/hp, mine figures at about 6lbs/hp. Not too hard to see the performance advantage there. I've got power equal to a well-tuned XS with less weight and 30% better fuel economy. So while I haven't actually checked my 0-60 times, they're well under stock. For some eye-opening dyno sheets, look here:
      http://www.nrhsperformance.com/dynoroom.shtml
There's some power figures here that in the 100+ lbs lighter bike would blow away a stock V-max... and these are all streetable motors, not 'race-only' pieces.

As to the V-max vs V-rod comparison, take away the V-max's 500cc displacement advantage, it would be a lot closer.

Every bike has it's pluses and minuses, that's why there's so many different ones available. Harleys as sold new are generally underpowered but that can be pretty easily fixed, which is not the case with most imports. Which bike is 'best' depends entirely on what makes it's owner happy, and slamming other peoples choices has never made any of my bikes better...

        Crazy

Don't take me to serious Steve, I am just having fun, I think HD's look great and have a sound all their own (and the chicks do dig them). I am a fan of the V-rod also, big change for HD. It just when guys get togther and talk any subject, cars, bikes, chicks, the banter begains

Bashing Harleys is like the Godwin's law for non-Harley motorcycle forums.
