If the issue is truly drive line lash, the middle gear can be shimmed to bring it back into specs. I do however doubt that you will find the shims. There is a complete second manual on the drive train and its maintenance / repair that many don't even know exists. I have an on-line copy and I am sure i got it from someone on this board. The crush drive parts in the rear wheel can also become too soft with time which adds to the lash that can be felt between turning the throttle and when the rear wheel starts moving.

      rings!!!!

ive done some more trouble shooting.#3 cylinder is really low,62lbs.the rest 105,110,112.#3 is the rings leaking.found some rings they are spendy.im going to try alternate rings.found a part# on this web site that sounds worth looking into.modifying good reusable set of piston is no problem to me,i have access to cool things.wold like to know if any one has tried this.i will share info as well.

Make sure it's rings and not valves. Put some oil into the low cylinder and check the compression again, if it comes up then it's the rings, if it doesn't change then it's likely the valves instead of the rings.

definitely rings,or worse.made a pressure fitting for the spark plug hole, and pressured it up on the compression stroke.lots of air coming out of the crankcase vent.
