I tried a boiler type temp/pressure gauge once but as the oil does not really flow to the gauge the temp reading is useless. Then I went to a standard oil pressure gauge and an electronic temp gauge with the sensor mounted to the incoming line on the oil cooler. Worked well for a while but I found that it was not water proof and it gave up after the first rainy ride. I still have the oil pressure gauge and if I want to know the heat I just pull out my little infra red thermometer and point it down to the #2 or 3 spark plug and read it that way, can be done while riding no problem. The Old Tamer

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!
