  • Running rich and hard starting.

Still 10 days before i see my new bike.
Dad has found it hard to start and it runs rich.

Today he wanted to go for a ride and couldnt get it to start. He pulled the plugs.
Found 3 Bosch Platinums and one Champion. All fouled.

Cleaned them and it fired right up.
I hate Champion plugs, always have, and Bosch Platinum? In a 30 year old bike?

Im thinking we found the biggest problem right there.

Im going to buy NGK V-Groove plugs for it when it gets here.

    What do you guys think?
Sounds like just a major plug issue going on to you?
    Would you use Bosch?

This is my 80 XS1100 Special.

Personally i think the only good thing Bosch makes are 02 sensors for cars and trucks.I tried them once in my SG and hated them.NGK BP6 ES plugs are all i run.

The NGK V-Power version doesn't have the removable end on the plug.

Ahh, we need the removable tips? Never thought of that. Still going NGK.

I run Bosch Pl 4+ on every vehicle I own. I didn't care for them on the bike when I was running stock coils, though. My next plug venture will be Ir's.
