    handlebar replacement

I attempted to replace the stock handlebars on my 79 Special this weekend but when the throttle cable end popped out of the grip (and was a bitch to put back in) I stopped for fear of threatening a ride I had planned. It seemed pretty straightforward but apparently not (for me anyway). Are there any tips or suggestions when replacing handlebars?

My advice is don't remove the screws, just loosen them and slide the twist grip assembly right off.
