  • Exaust paint

I looked for a stock exaust on ebay and found the best ones were selling for $500.00+, say what? I bought one with good mufflers but poor down pipes. Cleaned the down pipes with a wire wheel on a grinder/polisher. sprayed two coats of Eastwood "silver" high temp coating (tried VHT first and didnt like the look at all) I love the way it turned out and it holds up great (pic attached)

                      How does it hold up?

So far it works great, no color change and wont blue like chrome. Has a more silver look and not as shiny as chrome but a hole lot cheaper then re-chromeing. I striped to bare metal with a wier brush on my table gringer/polisher (that was the only real pain besides R/I exaust) 2 to 3 med. coats and I let it cure in the sun for 2 days, When I first started it I let it run for about 30 sec. then cool for 10 min. the went for a ride. when I got back a hot smell was gone and it stll looks like the pic. ( did all this twice as I tried VHT two stage primer/topcoat, and it blistered, had to go back to bare metal and use Eastwood silver (not aluminum) and no primer, good stuff. Cant see it in pic to well, but I used Eastwoods high temp clear over the motor case after polihiing it.

                        Motor clearcoat

(If this pic loads) Here is a better view of the clear coat I used on the motor, not as shiny as just polishing but last longer
