i have renthal bars and the stock perch makes the clutch really hard to operate. i have installed my xj11 perch and it is slightly better. but the mirror angle is now dicked up... i have tried a billion ways to route it and it binds up from all the bends. maybe i'll go hydrolic??? or the off road place down the st has about 20 styles of aftermarket perches...

    any ideas???

When is the last time you lubed the cable? One thing that made a big difference on mine was adjusting the clutch (at the clutch) while it was at full operating temperature. In the past I'd always done it cold, but when the weather got hot it would just barely disengage the clutch once it warmed up. I went for a ride with a bud early in the season, and while I was waiting for him in the parking lot I adjusted it to compensate at the handlebar so it would fully disengage - just till I could get it home and do it right. GAWD that made the clutch heavy! My whole left arm was cramping by the time I got home . The next day I got it up to full operating temp, and adjusted it at the clutch (detached cable, loosened lock nut, backed off center screw one turn, back in until light contact was felt, backed off 1/4 turn, tightened the lock nut with a screwdriver on the adjuster to keep it from turning, reattached cable, and adjusted at the handlebar for 1-2mm slack at the lever). For whatever reason I could feel the adjusting screw make contact better while the motor was hot than I ever felt it cold. That made a big difference at the clutch lever. Even with the HD clutch springs it feels much lighter.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

      Hi 'solo,
you have sprayed cleaner and then new lubricant all through the cable so it's nice and free until you put it back on the bike?
It's all those tight bends the cable has to make to be neatly hidden under the tank what's doing it.
What I did was to run the cable in one simple swoop from the lever to the clutch.
Never mind that the cable shows, the effort to pull in the clutch is reduced by half.
