catatonic. Thanks! I unplugged it and it flashes on it's own now. I don't have to hold it on. However, does anyone know what else the self cancel thing does. There's six wires on it. Can I just run unplugged for now and do my own cancel (as I do on my other bikes anyhow). I see all lights and such still work. ??

The self cancellor gets a few signals, from the odometer to tell it when it's gone a certain distance to shut of the signals, as well as I think it has a built in timer, that's all. So as stated, bypassing/removing it will only affect the turn signals. I lost mine also years ago when went to LED, never really used the self cancel feature anyways, just push it in the middle when I'm done with the turn!
