So, one of the longest running '78 standard restoration projects continues! The engine is 95% complete. Just have the carbs to do and some polishing on the cam cover. It's essentially ready to go into the frame.
??? Should I be able to slip the kick start lever into place and rotate the engine while sitting on a bench? It feels like it doesn't want to move AT ALL. It engages and disengages properly. I'm wondering since the engine was a complete rebuild and has not been run yet, does it require a lot more torque? I'd guess I put 100 or so ft. lbs. on it and no rotation. Feels rock solid.
I have no experience kick starting an xs1100 so I have no idea how much force is required. I'm hoping I don't have something internal assembled wrong, I took my time and feel that it's all good. Any comments? Thanks!
