  • Solid motor mounts

Does it realy make that much defference to put solid mounts on the motor, got the motor out of the bike that i am going to put in another bike and if I was to change the mounts, now would be the time to do it, the stock ruber mounts look to be in good shape.

    Use the rubber mounts Bob.

The vibration with solid mounts will numb you right down to your tail bone.

I've never gone rigid mounts on a bike or car, but I have done solid rubber motor mounts versus grease filled rubber mounts. BIG difference in vibration. I imagine the solid mounts will be quite noticeable.

The PO put aluminum motor mounts on my 1978 and IMO they do make a difference but still as smooth as the rubber motor mounts. I haven't noticed any difference in vibration.

If it turns over and you got compression, add fire and boom you got a motor, just like magic, right,

Did you pour these, modify something existing, or machine them from round stock? Do you know what the durometer of these were?

While I don't think solid mounts would be a great idea, I can see urethane as an improvement...
