Panic...forgot the "C" mark on cam chain tension

Last night I rushed out in the garage to do the cam chin adjustment just between the Spain-Portugal soccer game and going to bed. All went fine, less than 5 min work....WOW...that was an easy one I thought... Today when I woke up it stroked we that I didn't line up the C mark on the timing plate. I have not touched the starter button after that nor turned by hand.

Is it just to turn it over to "C" and repeat the procedure? Should I take out the plunger and inspect the operation?

Any advise would be strongly appreciated....

    Thanks

Just start from scratch and it should adjust OK.

Once you un-can a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is with a bigger can.

Thanks, brother.....! Will have to do that tomorrow, I need the bike to be running on friday 'cause the CEO of the house has the car.

I guess it is worth the effort to spin a couple of turns by hand to check that all is fine....?

Did the re-adjustment. It all went fine. Turned the engine by hand before hitting the button. Bike is more quiet now. Also checked the oil supply to top due to missing oil warning light by opening the banjo at the feeding tube. Filled half of the garage floor with sticky 20W50 oil in i few engine strokes, so I guess thats cool too.

          Thanks to the contributers.

You're a lucky man, I did the same thing last year, except I remembered the C mark after sitting on the starter button and wondering why I had no compression All 4 exhaust valves we're... shal we say... out of spec... That made for a decent winter project. If you search my threads you'll find pictures of my old head....
