I do not have a colortune and probably wont for quite some time cause I am poor no tips broken off they are all good. I tried turning them to see if I could attempt to tune by ear but I really didnt get a whole lot of change in the way the bike sounded as I turned the screws. I could turn the screw all the way in and it would hardly change the sound of the bike and then I would have to go to almost 3 turns out before it would start to stumble.

In my opinon, you may want to drop your pilot jets down to 42.5. Hmm...while thinking of that, what pilot air jets are you running? I had a set of carbs where the PO told me they were rejetted for power!! Woohoo...yeah...had all kinds of screwed up jetting and the air jets were SMALL. I never ran the bike with them in, I rejetted for stock as its all stock for the most part anyway. But a thought.

I've not messed with the early model carbs that much, just the 80-81 models mostly. But it sure looks and sounds like an idle circuit issue and like the pilot idle jets are a little bigger than she wants.

But my biggest confusion is if it was a jet why is it then that #1 looks like its running good the way it is?

Good point. Is the mixture screw on no 1 turned WAYY in perhaps? Just grabbing for info here. Or maybe , just maybe no 1 has a blockage in the pilot jet circuit that got cleaned out in the others?? Reaching here for sure, just thinking out loud.

Right now if I remember correctly from this afternoon all the pilot screws are somewhere between 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 dont remember which ones are where though off hand. Unless something got in there after I cleaned them (which was just a couple weeks ago) they are all clean. I went through about 3 of the big spray cans of carb cleaner, which reminds me I need to get more.
