          Blah, that is one crusty filter. I had an 81 special the was filled with dog food inside the filter when I got it! I guess that was a factory original with options.

            That's funny, XS11lvr ....

            Garth got one where the rats had stuff stashed all over that bike, IIRC. Had been sittin' outside, under a tarp in San Diego for a LONG time ... lol ...that's some rat country out there.

            I have seen several Benzs that have had virtually every cavity packed solid with dog or cat food ... ... industrious buggers, them rats !!

              perhaps you over-react? Blow it out with an air line and put it back. See if the bike runs better afterwards.

                  Yep, my 81 Spec. had a rat condo inside my airbox when I got it. Quite a comfy looken spot......for a little rat.
