I've never heard this before, the 81 venture I stole my tank off of has shorter then stock (like 3" or so) handlebars and they cleared the tank. hmmmm
Well, to tell you the truth, I don't know if my older xs11 E's have stock bars. I only know that the XS11 H tank did not work with those bars. I had to rotate the bars forward for clearance and it did look and feel stupid!
