  • Bagger Help

Bought some bags off Ebay they looked like they would fit.
I have attached to the upper shock mount and where the directional use to be.
The bottom does not seem to fit see photo.

    Here is the whole bike

    http://s910.photobucket.com/albums/a...Bagger2.jpg%26

From looking at Ken Talbot's bike the gray part that holds the foot pegs looks different.

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

    TIA

Yep, you got a set for a Special, not a standard. The peg/exhaust bracket on the Specials angles up instead of being level. About all you can do is make a short bracket to span the 'gap', or cut off, rotate, and re-weld the one that's there, or see if you can get the 'standard' front bracket...

the brackets for the specials are hard to find...

i ended up with heavily customized bracketing to fit the bags on mine.
(hell if i know what bike my bags were made for.)(i didn't care)

      they fit now.

you can probibly find someone wthat wants that part and will pay you for it
      or swap you for it.

      look in the WTB section

I believe what he has are for that standard as they are identical to my 80G. The ones for the Venturer(which is what the bags look like they are off of) are different and look closely angled to the ones on my special with the exception to the engraving.

          Hi Rick,
as the country & western singer whined:- "two out of three ain't bad".
A piece of 2"x1/8" flatbar with a pair of nuts & bolts each side should fix it.
Either black painted steel for cheap or polished stainless for posh, you choose.

            Seems to be working fine.

Just a question since I'm interested in the history.
Some have said the bags were off a special, I have never seen a special with the Indigo blue gold pin stripe colors.
            Just wondering

              Bagger part II

What are hard bags without a fairing.
Picked up this fairing with the bags.

              http://s910.photobucket.com/albums/a...SCF2943.jpg%26

Can anyone I. D. the fairing?
Have a picture of the proper bracket?
Or have a spare to sell?
My Dog does not like the flash
I've been searching threads could not find threads containing info on converting a standard head light to a fairing.
Info on this if known would also be apreciated.

looks like a late model pacifico. I have the 78 pacifico on mine, which is a little bigger, I think, and has the blinkers rotated 90 degrees.

IDK about the brackets, I understand the later model ones are different than the earlier ones. The headlight is built in to the fairing, and you should have a wiring harness in the fairing, and an adapter that wires up to your headlight, blinkers and some other plugs that will plug directly into your fairing harness. If you don't have that, you'll have to figure all the wires out.

The fairing looks like the '80 Venture model. Based on a Vetter, uses the same 9 pin Molex plug. Mount is Vetter design, but uses the two frame mounts as well as the funky hose clamps. I can take some pictures of mine, if you need a little more visual information.

Yes it does have a 9 pin plug.
Pictures would be very helpful since I'm going to have to alter the bracket I have.
I noticed high on the frame there are 2 female threads. I would imagine it is for mounting a faring.

The bracket I have does not utilize them but does line up with the holes on the faring.
                    It is marked Vetter Honda.
When you get around to it.
Weather is for riding so, I'm not going to start a project that will side line the bike.

                      dimension please

                      http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280401252629

There is half the bracket on ebay that I need.

It seems simple to make but I would need some dimensions.

Could someone tell me the the dimension from center of the round pipe to the center on the front and rear mounting holes?

The diameter of the pipe also.

I'm trying to find a picture of the top bracket. if someone has one it would be great if you could post it.

                      TIA

                        Hi Rick,
I have a fairing like that on my 81 H Venturer. I will look for the picture link and get back to you.
