    XJ Final Drive Mod Question

    Hi,
    I've done the 750 (850) final drive mod to my G. Question is: is the final drive from an XJ750 as compatible with my xj1100 as the xs750 is with my G? The case looks different, very smooth.
    1980G Standard, Restored
    Kerker 4 - 1
    850 Rear End Mod
    2-21 Flashing LED Arrays on either side of license plate for Brake Light Assist, 1100 Lumen Cree Aux Lights,
    Progressive springs, Showa rear shocks
    Automatic CCT
    1980GH Special, Restored
    Stock Exhaust, New Handlebars, 1" Spacer in Fork Springs, Automatic CCT, Showa Rear Shocks
    '82 XJ1100 (Sold)
    Automatic CCT, RC Engineering 4 X 1 Exhaust, K&N Pods, #50 Pilot Jets, YICS Eliminator. Sorely missed.

    I've never worked on the XJ, but I thought the FD on the all of the XS models were identical including the XJ1100. I know the XJ750 will not work out for an XS without moving the rear shock mount for sure as that is visibly different. Not sure on how it lines up with wheel and the swing arm. Just that it is not considered compatible.

      I KNOW .....

      That an XJ750 FD will NOT work on a xs1100Sf.

      the splines are at different depths between FD's.

      i don't know about your xj1100....

      sorry, i'm not much help in this area....
      1979 XS1100SF Special.78 E motor/carbs, Jardine 4-2 exhaust, XS Green coils, Corbin seat, S.S. Brake lines, Hard cases, Heated grips.

      2012 FJR1300 Gen 2. Heli bar risers, R-gaza crash bars, mccruise cruise control.

      (2)2008 WR250R. Because kids outgrew others.

      2007 Suzuki V-Strom 1000. (Just added 2024) pre-crashed.

      1975 Kawasaki S1 250. My first bike. Still have it. NO I'm not selling it!!

      Most bike problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!!

        They look very different, it doesn't surprise me that they're not compatible although the XS ones are interchangeable. Go figure, asian logic

            Hmmmm..........as far as I know they will work with the proper modifications.

            trbig has one on his XJ and I think XJOK2PLAY is fixin' to put one on his this week.........

              Greg, your supposed to drink coffee in the morning , not more beer!!

              The question was if an XJ750 fd will work on the XJ1100. I know Tod is using an XS750/850 FD on his XJ1100.

                Who said beer's not for breakfast????

                i work 6pm to 6am nightshift, 6am is my beer time.

                so it sounds like the final verdict is that the xs11 and xj11's need xs750-850 FD's.

                Make sence?
