    Headlight Assmby

    Afternoon all,

    Researching what will interchange with my cicle's headlamp it appears at first look that I have the following choices in an 8" bucket:
    2F3 84303 A0 00 in these-
    • '80 XS11LG

    • '81 XS11SH & LH
    • '80 XS850SG & G
    • '81 XS850SH & H


    If that about covers it, I can expand my search. What say you all?

    The headlight for the LG and LH is black, with a gold ring (different part number starting with 4H1), but it is the same size and shape of the others. With mine, the PO got rid of the stock lense and bulb, and simply installed a standard automotive sealed beam Halogen bulb. Much easier to find a replacement for those.

    I may be wrong, but aren't these 7" bulbs?

      Same

      82 XJ650's have the same head light.

        Yep, I musta had my eyes crossed when I looked at the small print in the parts manual, I knew the MNS were black, oh well. Thanks for pointing it out.

        I did measure the outside diameter of my bucket again and I got 8". I guess the rim is 8" and the lamp/lens is 7"? The only place I found a measurement was on MIke's XS and they show a 7" and a 6 1/4".

        So, can I just order a rim and find a retainer (or use the 'W' clips) and use a 60/55 W sealed beam halogen lamp?
        Sorry, I just can't remember how all that fit together and didn't realize that there were that many pieces to the assembly.

          If you're looking for the entire assembly, you might try PMing Andreas - another option.
          I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
