My spark plugs on my SG are pink in color(electrode)They are not white but not tan-I didn't do a throttle chop test but that is normal riding-no issues with the bike running at all.NGK plugs installed-no oil or burnt electrodes.

the pink color is from an additive in the fuel

Mine look kind of orange sometimes. I think scooter nailed it with fuel additives.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

But without the additives is it running lean?

Mine isn't. I usually notice the orange color when I check plugs that haven't run for many miles since being cleaned. I think it takes about 1k miles before you can really tell much from the color. How long had yours run?

i do a lot of 2 stroke tuning and with all the crap they put in gas today it is getting harder and harder to read the plug
some times it takes a few miles to get a reading any larger then a 2mm smoke ring at the base of the procilin

I have not put a lot of mileage on the plugs-not even 250 miles on them yet.I replaced the speedo last year with one close to my mileage and will take it to inspection soon.Only need to put 1 mile on the bike before it matches the mileage 2 years ago.
