Anyone used the Schleyer Test Equipment synchrometer? This seems a compact and efficient way to synch carbs...maybe?

You'd have to have room aft of the carbs to use it though...

I saw lots of hits on sites referencing Weber carbs, VWs, etc...and some VMax guys use it.

I used to work with a guy years ago that was a Brit cars specialist, he had a couple gauges very similar that he used on MG's, Jags, and such with multiple carbs. As I recall, you need a gauge for each carb so you can read them together (that's how he did it). I don't think it would be any more accurate than a mercury sync. tool.

Years ago I used a Uni Syn on my '66 Sprite SU carbs. It's similar, in that in measures air flow through the carb throat, rather that vaccuum in the manifold. The Uni Syn was less elaborate, having only an indicator floating in a column of air, rather than a calibrated display.

It had to be moved back and forth between the carbs, which was OK for twin carbs. It would be a pain (or worse) for a four carb setup.

After seeing Gary Granger's Carb Tune, I'm sold. They're compact and environmentally friendly. I'm saving my pennies!

I got a buddy who had a deal like sixty-six showed and he set it for free. It really was REAL close already tho. I took my time on the pre-sync. Nice tool!
