I'd anticipate it needing the electrical connections cleaned, and the brakes cleaned for sure.

I think you should give me her number, I need to ahhh...check the original Yamaha spec number to make sure it's ahhh.....up to code.
I'd say start at $500 and see if it floats, you know you'll have alot of rebuilding and tires ect. The value of old bikes is really low the last year, it's hard to sell anything. If you get it for 500 you'll always smile when you look at it. If you pay $1,000 and then drop another $1000, carb, brake, master, rebuilds, tires, tank liner, fluids, title work ect What if the trani is bad, 500 mile bikes must sit for a reason, maybe the pickup coil wire need fixed.
I paid $500 for the 79 bobber, with bags and xtra seats. The guy shook my hand and thanked ME for getting out of his way! The bike is only worth anything to the person that wants it and is willing to spend 1 or 2 hundred hours bringing it back. Yeh it sounds like to big of a job, you'd better just let me take care of it.

I bet the valve stem seals are dried up. Mine was only driven 400 miles over the 5 year period before I owned it and it smoked and used oil for a few thousand miles untill eveything settled back in. I can imagine how bad that thing could be with only 500 miles on the clock, thats hardly broken in!

P.S. We're happy you want to keep it original.

I doubt the electrical is bad at all. It has been in a heated dry hangar. I am sure the tires and such need replacement, if nothing else, just for age. The engine will need to be woken up like Marshy said, I am positive. The guy just had a lot of money, and would buy things and lose interest quickly. It is in perfect condition, fully functional, just has been sitting. I will keep you posted!

Sorry Garrett, you are only allowed so many nice bikes...there is a limit and you have exceeded yours!

I have been looking at seats from Roc City Cafe. Theirs are really nice. I have gotten a few from other places, but Roc City is supposed to be really good. I am doing a CB750 cafe for the Snap On dealer right now, should be pretty cool. Mine 1100 is cafe'd except for the seat; I have kept a two up till now so my wife could ride along. If I get this other one, that will change fast!
