Does someone have a link to the tech thread for checking and adjusting the valve clearance? Thanks

Honestly I do not think there is one. The procedure is pretty well as is stated in the manual. So, look at the manual, follow the process, and have fun.

If you do not have the tool, do a search on valve adjustment and you can find a few threads that describe how to loosen the cam retaining caps to get the shims out.

I dont think there is one in the tech tips, but if you use the search button in the blue bar above you find many threads on the subject. The other option is to download a manual from the link in CatatonicBugs signature.

There is a spreadsheet you can download around here somewhere.

I guess I didnt look far enough back in the search. I think I only made it back to the posts in 2007 or 2008.

I don't find the search button here all that useful. if you make a typo you have to wait another 15 sec to correct it. If you use any word with 3 letters or less it craps out saying your word is too common.

I tried to search for the spreadsheet before I posted, no luck. I've tried to search for a few things last couple of days and i get 2oo threads that have nothing to do with what i am searching for.

Sorry about that. I realize now that that post is still stuck in the "tips under construction" section, and as such, only available to admins.

Perhaps TC and the other admins might find some time for a quick review, then move it to production to enable access by all....
