iv been trolling the sea of goolgle for a cheap set of tires and am hard pressed to find any below 90 each
do any of you know where i can pick up a cheap cheap set?
This is one that will bring out lots of opinions, and every single one of them will be right for the person giving the opinion. I went with a set on Kenda's this time around after getting a bad taste in my mouth for Dunlop 404's, and they seem to be wearing fine and handle well, but I've only had them on for about 6 months, so the jury is still out on them.

I've got Kenda's. Perfectly acceptable tires for everyday riding, and theyre cheap. Probably not what you want if you going to be riding like your on a track, but for normal use theres nothing wrong with them.
Had Cheng Shins before as well. Not quite as good but okay none the less.

I just picked up a front Dunlop Elite III on Ebay for $45 + 15 shipping. I got my rear tire from Bike Bandit for $115+free shipping. I probably could have picked up a rear Elite III cheaper on Ebay, but I got impatient. Just my $.02

I'd have to say I agree 110% with this. I have Kendas on my Seca Turbo, I've used Cheng Shins always as they are a Metzler copy but only softer. 2 great choices. Today since I got mine running right I am putting on Conti-tours. Nice tread pattern and a little harder so they should last longer. About $300.00 for both, 2 new tubes IRC HD's. 2 new rim locks for the rear. On my 1978 I use 130's instead of 120/90/17. Will know more after I ride it.

Just out of curiosity what do you not like about Dunlop 404's??

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
