  • Any body hear of Synlube?

In searching for filters for my S.O.F.A, i came across this supplier. These filters are all synthetic, and supposed to last for 100,000 miles. They cost $30.00. The problem i have with this is that ow can they filter for that long and not get full if they a doing the job. It's one of those times when if it sounds to good to be true, it probobly is. Sounds like a good filter though.

My understanding of filters is that you don't change them because they stop filtering, you change them because they don't flow as well because they are getting clogged, and if they get bad enough, the bypass valve kicks in and sends unfiltered oil to the engine. Not a good idea from what I can see. Even Amsoil which some swear by, and many consider snake oil, when saying to not change the oil for long periods, tells you to change the filter and top off the oil level. I would not only not not buy that product, but would find a way to block their website as well.
