That lip you're cutting is what's holding the filter element on. It'd be like pulling one of the slats out of a wooden barell and hoping to get the metal hoops to stay on.

$24 is a cheap filter price.. and this is one of those times you'll get exactly what you paid for.

      MikesXS.com

In Florida, have used their pods on two bikes now with no problems at all.

Indeed you do get what you pay for...I bought K and N pods and have not regretted it...Quality..no internal lip to interfere with airflow...filters are washable and reuseable...Love 'em

If you have the stock air box there is a mod you can do to them to eliminate the restrictive lip.

I think I have a good air box. I'll look when I get home from work tonight. If I do I'll post a pic and you can make me an offer + shipping. Shipping is probably $10.00 to $15.00 from the east coast. If your interested. Hope I can help... It s@##$ being broke. I rob Peater to pay Paul all the time.

Pod filters, have purchased them and Partsnmore.com. pods. Mikes are better quality. Yes Penguini, I am 'Down Under'. Pods plus freight from Florida USA worked out to be cheaper than just pods down here. Only $35 freight via USPS and delivered to door in 5 days.
