Looken foe 80 81 set of carbs
It looks like a set of carbs from an 80 or 81 is like find-en hens teeth. I want to put my project back to orig. I have a 81 sx 1100 sh. Any leads?

80SG Vetter bagger 1196 Wiseco big bore kit, Mega Cycle Cams, slotted cam gears, ported and flowed head, bronze intake seats, Dyno Jet kit, Dyno coils and Mikes XS air pods, Venture cam chain adjuster,Geezer's regulator, Clutch mod, Mac 4 into 1 with custom built and tuned baffle, Oil cooler,MikesXS emulators mod.
Dyno tuned to 98 hp at the rear wheel. -
carbs
I have a clapped out set off a 79 I think....the fuel/air needles are above the towers and 2 are busted. I buggered up one getten it out. Also, one float tower is broken at the hole.Last edited by brcree; 05-05-2010, 02:37 PM.At this time:

I got an extra set with my 79 xs I have no idea what year they are, they are disassembled if you know how to tell let me know I'll check, as of now I havent even looked at them. Actually, theyre still in the trunk of my car.'79 XS 1100FComment

81 carbs
Hey Peru: look on one side of the carbs and you will see either one.....turn screws with springs sitting ontop of what I call a tower....this is an early type....the other will have the screws down inside these towers.....this is what I'm looken for.At this time:

Or you could make it real easy on yourself and just count how many small port holes are on the rear throat opening. 4 holes= 80's carbs and 3= 70's.'81 XS1100 SH
