  • Need Two Carbs 2 & 4

If anyone has any extra or a line on where I can get them cheep please let me know.

I twisted off the Pilot jets and an EZ out broke off in one and the other just striped the brass.

    Thanks

    Please help !

Theres always at least one or more sets of them on ebay. I guess it depends on what you consider "cheap". I've seen them go for between $50 and $150. Considering what they run for a new replacement..... I'd call that a steal.

If you do replace only 2 of the carbs, you need to be 100% sure they came off the same year and model.

It's better to cough up the cash for a full set and keep your old ones for parts.

BTW, I've come up with good fix for leaking carb slide diaphragms. Let me know if you need this info.

Thanks guys Geezer Did you see that tony responded to you, let me know if he dont want the bar, I am not in a hurry and dont know if it will fit my 80 XS, and my PO told me he has the side bags to go with the lugage rack.

So im thinking I just might try to restore it and do like Corn King did ( way to go King) and go to shows (what a cool hobby). when your done restoring it and if you dont mess it up it shouldn't coust too much to do local shows.

thanks jeff 50 ea would be sweet.... like 200 for the rack, I will start looking. I think I will start with a local used parts place I think called "Bates" (dallas) I dont do to much internet buying so in not to sure bout e-bay.

        thanks again

Actually.... the prices I stated were for entire carb racks.... not just singles. I've purchased quite a bit from eBay. Their feedback system works pretty good to let you know how reliable the sellers are. At this moment there are 2 complete sets...... for a 79 and an 80 at $71 and $81 respectively..... and the price is for a set of 4.

I drilled out my pilot jets on two of my carbs. I was nervous but it worked out OK. I set the carb up in my drill press and drilled out the jets, leaving the threads. I took picks and pulled out the threads and then used a tap to clean out the threads. Give it a try, you don't have much to lose.

                  I have a 80 XS G.

I have already tryed too hard with the EZ out and the sidewall on one has cracked and the temper just happend to kick in and I forced it and broke the side wall off.
The other is still salvageable and with a press and some picks but I think I need to find some replacements.

                  Thanks guys

                    Charlie,
I have a set that you can use to get what you need. I have an extra bank that has one of the float posts broken. The other 3 are fine.

                      XS1100 on ebay

All I do is go to ebay and when it comes on I type in xs1100 and click search and there is always parts and bikes. Also make sure you click the titles and desciptions and you'll get a few more sometimes. XJ1100 ........same way. I do this almost as much as this site. Good stuff.

Charlie: There is a salvage in Acton near Granbury called Dano's that has a lot of 80, 81 carb banks for $100. He also has an 80SX Special out side that the carbs are still on and looks like the best ones to get. He's closed on Wed. & Sun.

Arron thanks but I need carbs for a 80 only from what im being told.

I bid on the set on e-bay but didn't want to get in a last minute biding war so I only bid once and let it go.

I am in no hurry so if anyone has any other line let me know I will check it out.
