  • Round Headlight swap

    Hey Guys, I am wanting to swap my 79's rectangle headlight to an all chrome round one, could you telll me what all parts I will need to get.

    Hi 'rider,
    any round headlight off an XS series bike should plug straight on, as will the aftermarket ones from MikesXS.
    You may have problems cramming all the wire and connectors in though and may have to get creative about that.

      Hey Fred, don't you have to change the "ears" ? Standards (square healight) are at an angle around 45 degrees whereas specials are at 90.
      1980 SG. (Sold - waiting on replacement)

        headlight ears

        The standard ears are a little short and the back of the shell is back into the instruments. If you get the special ears, the tubes around the forks are about 1/2" too long. I wrapped a piece of tape around the tube at the cut line, and cut them down with a dremel and cutting disk.

          Universal headlight bracket?

          Will the Universal brakets on mikesxs work for the 1100?
