im sure you can find a k&n filter on their website
buy one of those, and youll never need to change it again
if you dont want to spend that much, im sure you can google yourself a part number and a part

As far as I know, there is only one option for the XJ. The more expensive K&N is the only one that will fit. No one else makes an exact fit. I know there have been a few folks who have modified an XS filter to fit, but I'm not sure how they did that. A search will probably turn up some answers.1980 XS850SG - Sold

K&N does not make an air filter for the xj1100.
There is an excellent vendor on the XJBikes.com site. His handle is chacal:
